Get a Clue
I'm addicted to the board game Clue. Until a couple days ago I'd never played it before, and I finally got around to seeing what it's all about and I see it's utterly brilliant. On the one hand, it's a shame that I couldn't have discovered it when I was younger, but on the other, I'm not sure I'd have fully appreciated the brilliance when I was younger anyway.

I think in the near future I'll end up writing my own version of Clue. I know there's already a few PC ports of Clue, but it'll be fun anyway. (A new one was released this year, but it doesn't include netplay. $20 for a computerized board game that doesn't include netplay? Please!) I've never done network programming before, so that might be a challenge, but I'll see what I can do...

Sure my bugging you about the game right before you tried it had nothing to do at all with your discovery. ;)

OK, yeah, I checked my logs and I did play the SNES version after you had mentioned it. ^^; But I'm pretty sure it was already on my list of games that I should play.

The SNES version was shit. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever played an electronic version that accurately conveyed the sensation of yelling at the player before you for dragging your ass all the way back to the Kitchen when you've just gotten to the door of the Billiard Room.

The SNES version was shit. I don't mind the fact that the game's mechanics were changed, but it's clear that the designers didn't understand (or care about) how the game is supposed to work. I could launch into a big rant about it except I've already done it a couple of times, and you probably already know the complaints I have about it. :P

It was still what intrigued me enough to play the other versions, though, and discover the game's joys.
